Job summary

METHODIST MANSFIELD MEDICAL CENTER seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts in Richardson, TX. The role covers adult and neonatal care, ventilator support, ABG analysis, and related therapies.

You will work under supervision, adhere to departmental policies, and ensure patient safety. Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, current BLS and ACLS, Texas license, and NBRC registration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• 6 months respiratory care experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR, and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostics such as ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview, and review of medical records.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Operates and troubleshoots all cardiopulmonary equipment (ventilators, oxygen analyzers, etc.).
• Maintains infection control, safety, and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
