Job summary

St Mary's Health Care System in Athens, GA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for our 28-bed Medical Surgical unit. This Full-time position features a Week Nights shift on a 12-hour night schedule, on the 4th Floor MedSurg, with a family-friendly, collaborative team environment.

You will assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, collaborate with the Care Team, and deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care in alignment with established standards and pathways.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or equivalent.
• Refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
• Prior experience preferred; new graduates considered; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan.
• RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
• The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.
