Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is expanding its 5 East unit to support a growing patient population requiring Med Surg and telemetry monitoring. This RN Med Surg/Telemetry role is full-time with three 12-hour night shifts per week on a brand-new unit.

The RN will lead patient assessments, care planning, and collaboration with the care team in an inpatient acute care setting, ensuring safety and high-quality outcomes. Active RN licensure and strong teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Inpatient Med Surg experience required.
• RN licensure currently active.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed patient assessments and develop/adjust care plans.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and care plans.
• Document care and coordinate with other units as needed.
