Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing school/program.
• Qualified by education, training or experience to work with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to medical regime and the nursing interventions appropriate for the patients' conditions.
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's presenting problems or needs and the physician's diagnosis.
• Collects key information from patient, family, lab results and other medical reports.
• Determines nursing diagnoses and priorities including discharge planning and patient education.
• Documents assessments and clinical judgments.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by the physician.
• Prepares equipment and assists during treatments and examinations.
• Responds to medical emergencies and assists with CPR/BLS/ACLS as required.
• Maintains patient records and uses patient computer systems for data entry.
• Collaborates with patient, family and hospital staff to coordinate care.
