Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year.
• External applicants: two years of recent related nursing.
• Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, with probationary review and approval.
• Military RN experience considered.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing education.
