Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Float Pool. You will provide and coordinate care across units, caring for adults and geriatrics while respecting standards of nursing practice.

The role requires night shifts (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) with every other weekend and 3 holidays per year. Strong collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and commitment to patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification must be presented upon hire or within first year.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost effective, quality patient care utilizing the nursing process and collaboration with other healthcare disciplines.
• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients based on established standards, managing assigned personnel and collaborating with other health care team members.
• Complete med-surg competency and be primarily assigned on those units.
• Cover non medical-surgical units as needed.
• Promote and demonstrate nursing caring standards and guest relations.
• Assess ongoing patient conditions and respond to changes.
• Plan and update goals with patients and families, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Implement nursing care, administer treatments and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes and quality improvement.
• Lead and mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.
