Job summary

UnityPoint Health - Des Moines is seeking registered nurses for acute inpatient roles with a $20,000 sign-on bonus. Full-time eligibility, nights 7pm-7am, and a 0.9 FTE with weekend/holiday rotation. Relocation support up to $10,000 for moves over 50 miles.

Milestone-based payment structure applies. Our Critical Care Internal Resource Team (IRT) provides support across ED and CCU, with specialized training and resources to address vacancy and census changes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• 2 years of Emergency Department or Critical Care experience.
• Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and referrals.
• Develops an individual plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and health care team.
• Completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient care.
• Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process and required clinical skills.
• Adopts a holistic approach considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety needs.
• Delegates and provides direction for other health care team members within their scope.
• Uses critical thinking in developing nursing interventions and maintains accountability for patient conditions.
