Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and oxygen therapy. The role requires neonatal and adult patient care under supervision, with emphasis on respiratory assessment and treatments per department policy.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, NBRC registration, Texas license, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by NBRC.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway maintenance, and chest physiotherapy.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Create treatment evaluations from bedside assessments and patient records.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT results.
• Maintain and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Support infection control and quality assurance tasks.
