Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS, is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shift. You will perform respiratory therapies, manage ventilators (invasive and non-invasive), draw and analyze blood gases, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure optimal patient care.

Requirements include CRT certification, BLS, and an Associate degree (Bachelor's preferred). Will rotate across patient care areas and contribute to cost-effective care with a team-oriented

Qualifications

• Critical thinking and patient assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate and modify the plan of care.
• Ability to ensure infection control and patient safety in all procedures.
• Effective communication in both spoken and written form, with EMR documentation experience.
• Airway management including insertion and maintenance of a patent airway and intubation as required.
• Competent management of invasive and non-invasive ventilation per physician orders and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review workload, assign staff, and support shift lead with technical questions.
• Follow regulations in the blood gas lab, run QC tests, and manage cartridges.
• Document education and care plans for patients across teams.
• Participate in rounds and contribute to patient care decisions.
• Support bronchoscopy procedures and respiratory therapy treatments per orders.
• Set up and adjust ventilators; deliver oxygen therapy and aerosols.
• Monitor ABG results and respiratory status; document changes.
• Respond to rapid responses and CPR scenarios; perform related duties.
