Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to evaluate and provide respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Duties include vent management, equipment QC, and patient education, under physician orders and with collaboration from the care team.

This role requires WV licensure and adherence to departmental competencies, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and system-wide quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensed respiratory therapist by the applicable state where services will be performed.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and POC Technician certifications as established by WV department of health.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic and advanced therapeutic procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients by order of the physician.
• Assembles, checks, and corrects malfunctions and performs quality controls on Respiratory Care equipment.
• Initiates, maintains, and discontinues mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Communicates with the healthcare team regarding patient care.
• Provides patient and family education with other team members.
• Participates in departmental quality assurance and hospital-wide performance improvement.
• Performs diagnostic procedures for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients by order of the Physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency.
• Demonstrates ability to perform all department competencies.
