Job summary

WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital is seeking a licensed respiratory therapist to provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients. You will administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services and work under the direction of physicians.

The role requires WV licensure (LRTC or LRTR) or equivalent, with ME/PA/OH/MD licensure as applicable. The department maintains competencies and offers opportunity for advancement through a clinical ladder program.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years respiratory therapist experience.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and Point of Care Technician credentials per department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic and advanced therapeutic procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients by physician order.
• Assembles, checks, and corrects malfunctions and performs quality controls on respiratory care equipment.
• Initiates, maintains, and discontinues mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Communicates effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient care.
• Assists with patient and family education and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Performs basic and advanced diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Maintains clinical competency and demonstrates departmental competencies.
• Lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 40 pounds as needed.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36; Shift: United States of America (Non-Exempt).

Education

MD: Respiratory Care Practitioner through Maryland Board of Physicians

OH: Respiratory Care Professional through Ohio Board of Medicine

PA: Respiratory Therapist through Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine

WV: Licensed Respiratory Therapist Certified (LRTC) or LRTR through WV Board of Respiratory Care
