Job summary

Select Medical in Madison, WI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for per diem/night shifts. The role supports inpatient post-ICU care for chronically and critically ill patients in a hospital setting.

The RT will evaluate patients, deliver respiratory therapies, and assist with procedures while contributing to quality improvement and patient education. Requirements include NBRC CRT or RRT credentials, BLS, and state licensure; ACLS is required on hire.

Qualifications

• Must possess Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: college diploma/ transcript or high school transcript/ diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
