Job summary

ESSENTIAL duties include therapy setup, monitoring, testing, staff training, patient education, and records maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent is required.
• Respiratory Therapist license in Massachusetts required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
• Six months to one year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, apply, and administer therapy as directed.
• Control factors such as respiratory ratio, pressure, and oxygen delivery; administer medications.
• Perform basic bedside pulmonary testing and advanced pulmonary function testing.
• Oversee training of new personnel in the Blood Gas Laboratory.
• Provide patient education on disease processes and home respiratory therapy.
• Maintain records and prepare charges for accounting and billing.
