Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Aurora West Allis Medical Center to join the Respiratory Therapy Services team. The role supports patient assessments, therapy administration, and bedside procedures during nights in a 0.9 FTE schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with at least an associate degree.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license and NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT) within required timelines.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Uses respiratory therapy processes to assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values and blood gas interpretation.
• Operates ventilators and assists physicians with bedside procedures as needed.
• Administers treatments and therapies per physician orders or protocols; ensures equipment is clean and functional.
• Educates patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care; collaborates with teams for patient management.
• Maintains safe equipment usage and reports safety issues; participates in cross-departmental education.
