Job summary

Centra Health in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Radiology Technologist I to perform radiographic procedures, care for patients, and assist physicians with contrast administration. You will ensure image quality and patient safety in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires a two-year degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT eligibility or certification, and VA licensure alongside ARRT. This is a full-time, night-shift position with eligibility for a $5K new-hire bonus.

Qualifications

• Completed two-year degree program in Radiologic Technology.
• Registry eligible or certified as Radiology Technologist by ARRT; must be certified within 30 days of hire; CPR within 6 months.
• Virginia State Radiologic Technologist License required in addition to ARRT.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
• Follow ALARA guidelines and radiation safety measures.
• Position imaging equipment and set exposure times according to examination specifications.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure safety and comfort during exams.
• Operate or supervise radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Maintain patient records in RIS and document changes to examinations.
• Evaluate radiographs for quality and accuracy against departmental standards.
