Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Radiology Diagnostic Technologist I/II/III for on-site work in Richmond. The role requires ARRT and BLS certifications, 6-month orientation, and 1+ year of experience. A sign-on bonus of $20,000 is available for offers accepted by 10/31/2026.

Shift: 11:00 PM–11:30 AM with weekend work. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic radiography, administering imaging agents, assessing patient risk, interpreting imaging under physician

Qualifications

• ARRT certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 6‑month orientation successfully completed.
• At least 1 year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures and related techniques.
• Safely administer contrast agents and assess compatibility/interaction risks.
• Assess patient allergy risk before contrast administration.
• Review lab values prior to contrast administration.
• Explain procedures to patients using age-appropriate language.
• Complete post-processing, image display, and transfer for physician review.
• Adhere to imaging protocols and document any deviations.
• Timely close orders and charge entry; ensure PACS QA is completed.
