Job summary

Balchem in Minnesota is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform physical and chemical analysis on raw materials and finished products, under the direction of QA leadership. The role emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting within GMP guidelines.

The ideal candidate will conduct standardized analyses, document results, and support laboratory and plant QA activities, including sample collection, data entry, and adherence to safety procedures in a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must have completed GMP training and follow all mandates.
• Lab performance evaluated annually and tests must be accurate.
• Duties executed in a timely manner to provide rapid feedback to production.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to written, oral or diagram instructions.
• Must be able to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples for analysis and distributes them appropriately.
• Performs chemical and physical analysis on product, ingredient and control samples.
• Records all product analysis according to laboratory protocols; data entry into computer system.
• Communicates effectively all critical information regarding analysis and test results; handwriting must be legible.
• Cleans and maintains all equipment/materials; cleans lab area at end of shift.
• Follows all laboratory and plant GMP and safety procedures.
• Provides written reports when requested by QA Manager/QA Leader.
• May perform environment sampling and pest control tasks as needed.
• Covers lab responsibilities during QA Leader absence.
• Performs other duties as requested by management.
