Night Quality Assurance Technician

As the Quality Assurance Technician, your essential functions will include but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring that finished Ziegenfelder treats are ready for packaging by properly preparing raw material inputs, monitoring production processes, and inspecting final products to ensure customer satisfaction.
  2. Reviewing and documenting quality assurance processes and making recommendations for improvements.
  3. Manipulating a variety of stainless-steel hard pipes and flexible hosing to perform CIPs and batch processing.
  4. Participating in plant sanitation activities including floor scrubbing, drain cleaning, and other manual sanitation tasks.
  5. Participating in the environmental monitoring program by collecting samples of finished product, work in progress, on equipment, and around the facility.
  6. Reviewing and recording microbiological data and reporting concerns and findings to the Quality Manager.
  7. Using HMI to appropriately call ingredients for bulk processing and transfer of batches.
  8. Conducting production support activities including mix making, equipment cleaning, product quality testing/sampling, and completing the master sanitation schedule tasks.
  9. Verifying that finished products meet quality standards for color, taste, quantity, wrap, and Rainbow Array.
  10. Adhering to HACCP, GMP, SOP, and SSOP programs and ensuring all documentation complies with federal, state, local, and company policies.
  11. Performing chemistry testing to ensure product specifications.
  12. Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and working cross-functionally with Production and Maintenance departments.
  13. Performing multiple quality checks, recording results in the data control system, and documenting batch records.
  14. Completing internal lab functions including environmental sampling and documentation.
  15. Conducting regular audits of documentation for compliance with applicable directives, policies, and procedures.
  16. Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Over 1 year of experience within a food manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Preference for candidates with a Food Science, Food Technology degree, or related fields; however, experience will be considered without a degree.
  • Experience and training in Food Safety, HACCP, SQF, Sanitation (SSOP & GMP), and other food safety systems required. SQF certification is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Abilities

  • Standing up to 12 hours per day.
  • Moving and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping actions.
  • Good spatial awareness around manufacturing equipment.
