Job description

The Night Production Supervisor is responsible for directing shift personnel in the operation of the facility, ensuring the consistent manufacture of finished products that meet all customer volume and quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate activities within all process areas to ensure product meets all defined scheduling and quality requirements.
2. Work with operators to organize and maximize the inclusion of all raw materials and rework in the production process.
3. Monitor physical characteristics hourly. Evaluate products for specs, grits, flavor, density, mix abilities, and moisture, ensuring finished products meet quality specifications.
4. Implement and enforce safety and regulatory programs for safe long-term operation of the facility.
5. Lead and supervise production personnel, raising performance standards. Establish education and development programs, including SOPs, quality specs, safety, and job expectations.
6. Communicate performance/KPI’s to the team daily.
7. Ensure inventory accuracy and timely completion of shift reports, including inventory levels, as per the plant's KPI matrix. Coordinate record-keeping with the Production Manager, covering production, quality assurance, inventory control, production planning, and administrative tasks.
8. Responsible for nightly production reporting.
9. Collaborate with the Process Manager and Production Manager to evaluate production and efficiency records to improve equipment capabilities and outputs.
10. Assist in developing weekly and monthly production schedules and employee staffing aligned with business needs.
11. Maintain and improve plant sanitation programs. Keep the plant clean and orderly at all times.
12. Coordinate equipment repairs and preventative maintenance with the Maintenance department.
13. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory policies and practices.
14. Assist with inventory balancing during period-end and year-end.

Position Requirements:

• At least 2 years of previous management experience, preferably in a dairy processing plant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in computer software applications.
• Previous supervisory experience.
