Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications in a hospital setting. You will work under a pharmacist, handling controlled substances and operating automation equipment to ensure accurate medication preparation.

The role requires a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) and PA registration, with on-site shifts including 7 on 7 off schedule and potential holiday work. Sign-on bonus and shift differential are offered.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB (Required)
• National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) required within nine (9) months of hire/placement
• Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required
• HS Diploma/GED (Required)
• ASHP-accredited training program preferred or Hospital Pharmacy Practice equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assists in dispensing medications under pharmacist supervision with accuracy and precision.
• Transports medications and pharmacy equipment to patient care areas, including automated dispensing technology.
• Maintains neat, clean dispensing area and storeroom and ensures inventory control.
• Utilizes pharmacy automation systems, including robotic packaging and storage/retrieval systems.
• Serves as training resource for new technicians and helps evaluate progress.
