Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing, charging and delivery of medications across patient care areas. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will assist with inventory, labeling and accuracy in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires PTCB certification (or obtain within 9 months), PA Board registration, and a HS diploma. Evening shifts and multi-site coverage are included as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB (Required)
• National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) required within nine (9) months of hire/placement required.
• Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough understanding of procedures for handling controlled substances and specialty pharmaceuticals.
• Operates automation systems including packaging, dispensing cabinets, and compounding equipment.
• Prepares medications for dispensing under pharmacist supervision with accuracy and labeling.
• Transports medications and pharmacy equipment to patient care areas, including automated dispensing tech.
• Maintains inventory: affixes labels, orders drugs and supplies, stocks shelves/carousels.
• Answers telephone with proper etiquette and triages inquiries.
