Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a third shift position. Under pharmacist supervision, you will dispense, charge, and deliver medications to patient care areas, while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include compounding, packaging, inventory, patient interaction at the point of sale, and maintaining accurate records. A HS diploma, 2+ years experience, and PTCB certification are required or preferred, with a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) required.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• ASHP-accredited technician training preferred.
• 2+ years pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications for dispensing under supervision of the pharmacist.
• Prepackages bulk medications.
• Compounds oral solutions, ointments, and creams under supervision of the pharmacist.
• Assists patients dropping off and picking up prescriptions, verifies correct prescriptions at point of sale.
• Sorts, credits and restocks medications as appropriate.
• Prepares pharmacy inventory.
• Completes orders from storeroom/distributor and stock shelves.
• Maintains pharmacy records for compliance and efficiency.
• Answers telephone and triages inquiries.
• Ensures shift tasks are completed before departure.
• Maintains neat and clean dispensing area.
