Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to contribute to dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications under pharmacist supervision. The role supports patient care areas and requires accuracy in packaging, labeling, and inventory management.

Required HS Diploma/GED and PTCB certification; ASHP- accredited training preferred. 2+ years pharmacy experience preferred. Third shift schedule with a $2,500 sign-on bonus is available as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) mandatory.
• Completion of ASHP accredited (or comparable) pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Equivalent Experience: 2+ years previous pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications for dispensing under the supervision of the pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
• Assists patients dropping off or picking up prescriptions and verifies correct prescriptions at the point of sale.
• Maintains inventory and assists in preparing and prepackaging medications.
• Enter prescriptions and insurance information into the clinical pharmacy information system for pharmacist review.
• Communicates with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims.
