Job summary

Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the evening shift. You will assist pharmacists in dispensing, labeling, and preparing medications, while providing patient-focused service at the point of sale.

This role supports inventory management and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced hospital setting. The position requires a Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) and a HS diploma or GED; ASHP-approved training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB (Required).
• HS Diploma or GED (Required).
• Completion of ASHP accredited (or comparable) pharmacy technician training program preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for dispensing under pharmacist supervision with accuracy and proper labeling.
• Assist in stocking, inventory, and handling of medications and supplies.
• Process prescriptions at point of sale; verify correct medicines for patients.
• Enter prescriptions and patient data into the pharmacy system for pharmacist review.
• Communicate with carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims and assist in payroll deduction where applicable.
