Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a part-time, night-shift caregiver in the Hematology/Oncology division. You will provide approved patient care under RN supervision, assist with daily living activities, supervise developmentally appropriate activities, and support coworkers after completing your own duties.

The role emphasizes emergency response, documentation, and collaboration with the team to ensure safe, compassionate care. Strong CPR training and relevant clinical experience are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required and one of the following credentials must be satisfied.
• Completion of ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited clinical rotation, or
• Listed on Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity within 180 days), or
• Listed on Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry.
• 1+ years of patient care experience within the last three years.
• Requires CPR training and maintenance of certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care - Provide approved care of assigned patients and assist in implementation of interventions under supervision of RN. Supervise and assist patients with activities of daily living. Supervise developmentally appropriate activities. Offer assistance to co-workers after completion of own duties. Use crisis control techniques and assist in de-escalation of patients and visitors. Assist with patient transport as requested. May assist with 1 on 1 patient observation as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited clinical rotation

Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity within 180 days)

Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry

1+ years of patient care experience
