Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to assist in the Med/Surg Disch Unit - Anderson. You will monitor patients, assist with basic care, and support the nursing team to ensure comfort and safety.

You will also document care in EPIC EHR, participate in hand-offs, and maintain a compassionate, patient-centered approach within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care or similar settings preferred.
• Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under supervision and support RN or healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, hygiene and mobility support.
• Monitors vital signs and reports changes to nurses promptly.
• Assists with feeding, dressing and personal care as needed.
• Maintains high level of cleanliness and sanitation in patient rooms.
• Records accurate documentation of patient care activities.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse and participates in hand-offs.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
