Job summary

CentraState Medical Center, located in Freehold, NJ, seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for 4N Surgical/Medical unit. The role supports licensed staff with direct patient care during night shifts (7P-7:30A).

The unit serves bariatric, thoracic and GI patients along with medical cases, focusing on safety and compassionate, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include glucose monitoring, specimen handling, 1:1 observation when needed, and supporting mobility and daily living activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year nursing assistant healthcare experience required OR CNA/PCT training OR enrolled in a degreed nursing program with clinical rotation.
• CPR certification required.
• Glucose certifications provided by CentraState during orientation.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to relate with healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-focused, respectful care.
• Performs bedside glucose monitoring and data entry.
• Assists with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Administers basic nursing tasks under RN supervision.
• Notifies nurse of pain or changes in condition and documents appropriately.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
