Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Safety Technician to support bedside care and maintain patient safety within the unit. The role requires continuous bedside presence and active participation in monitoring, de-escalation, and basic patient assistance according to the supervising RN.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, comforting and orienting patients, and monitoring remotely when assigned, while adhering to all ethics and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Stay at patient bedside unless relieved by a staff member.
• Provide calming conversations to address agitation or confusion.
• Identify and remove hazards and report as appropriate.
• Assist with activities of daily living as delegated by RN.
• Monitor safety via continuous video observation and respond appropriately.
• Remote monitoring of multiple patients and redirection of at-risk individuals.
