Job summary

Advocate Health Kings Mountain in Shelby, NC seeks a part-time Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous patient observation during the 7P-7A shift with rotating weekends. The role supports the nursing team in maintaining a safe, ligature-free environment and requires a high school diploma and BLS certification.

The incumbent will document observations, participate in RN handoffs, and ensure timely communication of patient safety needs while upholding professional standards across the care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPI certification required prior to conducting patient observation.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and remain with patient to provide observation as delegated by RN.
• Document information required during patient observation.
• Perform handoff communication with the RN regarding patient information.
• Assist nursing team in maintaining ligature-free environment.
• Notify and update the licensed nurse of patient safety and care needs.
• Foster professional communication between patients and staff.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
