Job summary

UNC Health Care in Lenoir County is seeking a Patient Safety Associate to provide direct observation and assist with activities of daily living under the supervision of a professional nurse. This role supports a safe, therapeutic environment and helps with basic unit functions as directed.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma (or equivalent), complete PSA, CPI and CPR trainings, and demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and observation skills to maintain calm,

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must complete Patient Safety Associate (PSA), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) trainings.
Good interpersonal, communication and observation skills are essential.
Ability to act calmly and swiftly under pressure and handle emotionally distressing situations.

Responsibilities

Performs direct observation and assists with activities of daily living.
Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient.
Assists with basic unit functions as directed by the professional nurse.
Projects a positive image of the department and hospital in contacts with health care staff.
