Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit. This unlicensed staff member is accountable to and works under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care.

Education: High School/GED Equivalent. Acceptable programs include Sentara Care Partner Certification, CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or current clinical student with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• Acceptable programs include CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or clinical program experience.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform delegated nursing tasks as part of patient care.
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and basic patient needs.
