Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Virginia is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit. The PCT is an unlicensed staff member who works under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated nursing tasks.

The role requires CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, or equivalent credentials, plus prior PCT/NA experience. A clinical program student with RN/LPN/RT/PT exposure is also acceptable, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program.
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• NCMA certification holder.
• NCPCT certification holder.
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School.
• Emergency Services training including EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic.
• Currently enrolled in a clinical program with at least one semester completed (RN/LPN/RT/PT).
• Recent work experience as a PCT or Nursing Assistant within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support the Medicine Unit with basic patient care tasks as assigned.
• Assist with patient safety, comfort, and ADLs under supervision.

US Navy Hospital Corps School
