Job summary

Tennova Healthcare- North Knoxville Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide patient-centered care under the supervision of RN/LPN. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a safe care environment, and communicate effectively with the care team.

The role includes collecting data, monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, meals, and hygiene, and participating in infection control and safety protocols. CNA or CPCT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic patient care services and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and intake/output, reporting to RN/LPN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Assist with patient positioning and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine and stool samples and monitor blood glucose as directed.

Education

CNA certification preferred or CPCT certification preferred

BCLS – Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire
