Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Tech-Urology & Vascular Surgery. The role supports RNs in direct patient care, admission/discharge, and routine monitoring of vital signs on a night shift.

You will assist with mobility, post-operative care, and patient comfort in a fast-paced unit. Ideal candidates hold a CNA certification or are enrolled in nursing school, with CPR/BLS and strong Health & Safety training.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or current nursing student with clinical rotations completed.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Minimum 90% on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• High school diploma required; some college/nursing education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care activities under RN supervision.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Record vitals: temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, BP.
• Respond to patient call lights promptly and ensure safety.
• Transport patients and supplies; assist with pre/post-operative care.
• Prepare rooms, assist with meals, and maintain cleanliness and safety.
