Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows computer systems and Microsoft Office products.
• Prior healthcare, medical office, or insurance experience required.
• If applicable, minimum 2 years experience in call center environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient information for records, billing, and payer needs.
• Enter accurate patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule, re-schedule, and cancel appointments in the EHR as requested.
• Verify insurance eligibility and explain patient liability to patients.
• Create a transparent financial experience, including estimates and collecting prepayments or outstanding balances.
• Lead and mentor Patient Access staff as a preceptor/mentor for the Revenue Cycle Shadowing program.
