Job summary

UPMC Hamot's Operating Room is seeking Full-Time Night Shift Surgical Technologists to join our high-performing surgical team. The role includes a night program differential and weekend/holiday coverage with on-call rotation to support 24/7 operating room operations.

Join a team of world-class surgeons and anesthesiologists; you will prepare the sterile field, pass instruments, manage supplies, and help keep the OR ready for upcoming surgeries while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal surgical technician program offered by an accredited institution.
• Maintain CPR/BLS certification per credentialing requirements.
• Awareness of aseptic technique and operative room safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the sterile field for procedures.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and assistants.
• Prepare and manage sterile supplies and restock operating room.
• Assist with cleanup, turnover, and instrument counts.
• Ensure equipment setup is verified and functioning.
