Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a proactive Operations Supervisor to lead drivers at a Georgia location. You will supervise hourly staff, manage daily tasks from loading to customer service, and ensure adherence to cost objectives.

The role involves coaching, staffing decisions, and coordinating with teams to meet customer expectations. The position emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and compliance with safety and company policies, with a night shift from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am and local travel

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain trained and competent supervisors and associates with clear link to customer objectives.
• Communicate measurable performance standards to the team.
• Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and provide coaching and counseling.
• Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team achievements and recognition.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation.
• Conduct team meetings and evaluate methods to increase dispatch productivity.
• Provide relief coverage and ensure site operating systems are understood for compliance.
• Complete records and reports accurately and timely.
• Understand financial policies and manage hours to minimize overtime and hit targets.
• Ensure safety alignment with location strategy and provide training and direction.
• Understand customer goals and pursue continuous improvement opportunities.
• Plan fleet work assignments and coordinate safe, efficient operation of equipment.
