Dayton Freight Lines in Bowling Green, KY seeks an Operations Supervisor to plan, schedule, and coordinate freight movements for cost efficiency. You will oversee drivers and dockworkers, ensure accurate logs, and support billing and weigh/size analysis in a fast-paced service center environment.

The role requires strong leadership, communication with internal/external customers, and strict adherence to DOT/EPA/ICC/OSHA rules, with opportunities for development under the Service Center Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in LTL or freight transportation operations.
• Experience supervising drivers and dockworkers.
• Strong knowledge of the Service Center geography.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate freight movement for cost efficiency.
• Inspect performance of personnel and adjust work practices to improve service.
• Review logs and reports to determine scheduling and admin support needs.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries and coordinate with customers.
• Assist with billing, rating, manifesting, and freight measurements.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and internal teams.
• Assist training, development, and evaluation of staff performance.
• With the Service Center Manager, recruit and develop personnel.
• Ensure Service Center premises are safe and well maintained.
• Assist in accident investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules.
• Facilitate information meetings with the Service Center team.
• Handle special assignments as directed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
