Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. seeks an Operations Supervisor to plan, schedule and coordinate efficient routing of freight. You will implement procedures to ensure error‑free movement and strong customer communication.

Responsibilities include supervising personnel, reviewing performance data, setting up deliveries, and assisting with billing and safety compliance across the service center.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the LTL/Transportation Industry.
• Experience managing drivers and dockworkers.
• Familiarity with the Service Center's surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Compile production and service records and measure conformance to standards.
• Inspect and measure personnel performance to improve operations.
• Review logs and confer with shift personnel for scheduling and admin support.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries.
• Assist with billing, rating, manifesting and analysis of freight weight and size.
• Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers.
• Assist with training, development and evaluation of personnel performance.
• Recruit, interview, hire and develop Service Center personnel.
• Ensure Service Center premises are protected and maintained.
• Assist in investigation and corrective actions for incidents and discrepancies.
• Understand and apply DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA safety rules.
• Facilitate information meetings with Service Center team members.
• Handle special assignments as directed.
