Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines in Mansfield, OH is seeking an Operations Supervisor to plan, schedule, coordinate and implement methods for efficient routing and movement of customers' freight in an error-free manner.

The role requires leadership of service center personnel, ensuring safety, DOT/OSHA compliance, training and development, and collaboration with the Service Center Manager to recruit and maintain qualified staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the LTL/ Transportation Industry.
• Has managed Drivers and Dockworkers.
• Knowledge of the surrounding geographical area to the Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and implement methods to ensure efficient routing and movement of customers’ freight.
• Compile production and service records and measure conformance to standards.
• Inspect and measure performance of personnel to improve service center operations.
• Review logs and confer with shift personnel for scheduling and support needs.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries.
• Assist with billing, rating, manifesting and analysis of freight weight and size.
• Maintain communication with customers and internal teams.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train and develop Service Center personnel.
