Job summary
UP Health System - Portage is seeking an OB Technician for part-time night shifts in Labor and Delivery. Under RN supervision, you will perform basic patient care, schedule management and charting to support smooth operations in the unit.
The role emphasizes patient safety, confidentiality, and teamwork. Requirements include nurse aide training or nursing student status with proper licensure, and relevant certifications as noted in the posting.
Qualifications
- Nurse aide training and Michigan CNA certification required or nursing student with applicable license.
- Graduate of Nursing School and current Michigan LPN license may be accepted.
- Medical Assistant program and CMA certification may satisfy the requirement.
Responsibilities
- Monitor vital signs, glucose, and intake/output as delegated by RN.
- Record patient conditions and communicate with care team and family.
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, nutrition and ambulation.
- Orient patients and families to room and unit, ensuring a therapeutic relationship.
- Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges and transport as needed.
