Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking an OB Tech for the Evanston Hospital to join the Labor and Delivery team on the night shift (1900-0730) with weekend rotation. The role supports RN staff, performs scrub tech duties, and helps ensure patient safety and comfort in labor and delivery.

Eligible US work status, CNA preferred, and BLS required. The position offers full-time hours, competitive hourly pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Preferred: CNA certification (IDPH health care worker registry)
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association)
• Experience in surgery or OB strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and visitors, answering patient call lights, answering phones, and assisting visitors within the facility.
• Assist in patient safe handling, ambulation and repositioning using Safe Patient Handling equipment.
• Under RN supervision, prepare and breakdown sterile instruments, set up OR rooms, and perform scrub duties.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfers; orient patients to room and hospital.
• Document patient care activities (ADL, vital signs, weights, input/output, glucose) and notify appropriate personnel.
• Restock equipment and linens, clean equipment, and relay test results to nurses.
