Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Obstetric Emergency Department on a 12-hour night shift. You will perform rapid triage, conduct maternal-fetal assessments, and initiate timely interventions in a high-acuity setting.

Collaboration with obstetricians and the broader team is essential to ensure safe, compassionate care. The role requires CT RN licensure, BLS certification, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Licensure: Current RN license in Connecticut.
• Certification: BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs rapid triage and maternal-fetal assessments. Initiates timely interventions per protocols.
• Manages obstetric emergencies and monitors laboring patients prior to admission.
• Coordinates care transitions and provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintains accurate documentation and ensures readiness of equipment and supplies; upholds safety and quality standards.
