Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 3 South General Hospital unit. The role involves direct patient care under the Clinical Nurse, assisting with ADLs, and maintaining a safe unit environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED (with substitution allowed for relevant experience) and Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire. Work schedule is nights at General Hospital in Charleston, WV. Salary is negotiable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of assessing patient age groups and development.
• Ability to obtain and interpret information to address patient needs.
• Competency validation through orientation and ongoing assessments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure.
• Assist with procedures per hospital policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and daily assignments.
• Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants.
• Provide courteous and prompt responses to patient requests.
• May be required to cover the house.
• Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment.
