Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center – Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV is seeking a Nursing Assistant to perform direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse. You will help with daily living activities, support procedures, and maintain a safe, clean patient environment, ensuring patient safety and timely responses to requests.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and Basic Life Support. Work schedule varies; position is 72 hours per pay.

Qualifications

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and assist with daily living activities.
• Assist with procedures and positioning as per policy and nursing direction.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse.
• Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment.
• Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants.
• Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests.
• May be required to cover the house.
• Assist with unit maintenance related to supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment.
• Provide observation, documentation and monitoring of assigned patients to ensure safety.
• Notify RN if IV tubes or catheters are disconnected.
• Promote infection control practices.
