Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital on the General Surgery 5D Unit, caring for bariatric, neurology, spinal and orthopedic patients as a Nursing Department Assistant III. You will support patient daily living activities and room maintenance alongside caregivers, and assist with tasks such as monitoring vital signs and EKGs.

This role offers an entry point into a rewarding nursing career at a world-class institution. Night shifts 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross within new-hire period.
• STNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide variety of patient care tasks and collaborate with health care teams to promote patient care.
• Organize patient care assignments to ensure timely delivery and completion of care.
• Document the care provided in the patient record and label specimens properly.
• Ask patients about pain and report to the RN/LPN as needed.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of units, including equipment.
• Keep patient areas neat and prepare rooms for admissions.
• Clean and maintain patient/unit equipment and report problems to the RN.
• Make hourly rounds to ensure safety measures (bed alarms active).
• Ensure bed alarms are activated during rounds.
