Job summary

Marymount Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare System, is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Neuroscience Medical Unit. The role supports the nurse manager with clinical supervision and unit coordination, focusing on patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will lead night shifts (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) with weekend/holiday rotation, oversee staff, improve patient flow, and contribute to quality initiatives while maintaining compassionate, high‑quality

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• Two years of clinical experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge and skills.
• Good oral, written and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of ambulatory procedural settings caring for hospitalized patients.
• Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in procedural settings to ensure quality of care.
• Anticipate and resolve patient care issues.
• Ensure continuity of patient care by actively participating in and facilitating communication and collaboration among and between department staff and other departments re: operational issues.
• Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provide ongoing clinical evaluation of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area.
• Counsel employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, collaborates in monitoring attendance issues.
• Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues.
• Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees.
• Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.
• Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures.
• Monitor daily clinical operations of outpatient clinics (patient flow, staffing, supplies, etc.).
• Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts.
• Participate in and supports quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
• Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.
