Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join the Microbiology team at Baptist Medical Center Downtown for full-time night shifts. You will receive and process specimens, perform gram stains, and conduct stat molecular testing with quality control oversight.

The role requires an Associate's degree, Florida MT license, and at least 2 years of lab experience; a Bachelor's degree is preferred and relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Florida MT license required.
• License note: pre-1997 license not required.
• 2 years Medical Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and processing specimens.
• Performing gram stains and stat molecular testing.
• Setting up susceptibility testing and quality control testing.
• Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serving as Charge Technologist in absence of others.
• Instructing new employees and students.
