Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join the Core Lab at Baptist Downtown on an evening shift. The role involves handling chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology, and serology with Beckman instruments and an automation line.

The candidate will work with a team of 7-8 Medical Technologists and four Specimen Processors, with opportunities for supervision and teaching as needed. Florida licensure and relevant MT/MLT credentials are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensed Medical Technologist (MT) or Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) credentials may be required or preferred.
• Florida licensure as Medical Technologist or equivalent required or appropriate licensure rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS and general lab duties in Core Lab.
• Maintain records of performance per SOP and supervise MTs when acting as Charge Technologist.
• Operate Beckman instruments and automation line for chemistry, hematology and coagulation.
