Northwest Health is seeking a Medical Technologist I for occasional site rotations between Portage and Valparaiso Medical Center. The part‑time night shift performs routine and specialized lab tests and supports patient care with accurate results.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety and quality procedures, instrument maintenance, and possible teaching duties for new staff. Phlebotomy may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS is required.
• 0–2 years of acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adhere to quality control procedures and maintain documentation.
• Conduct instrument checks and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and coordinate with appropriate staff.
• Collect urine drug screens when required and assist with phlebotomy duties.
